Do I have to pay an excess?

For a dirt bike policy the basic excess you will have to pay for each and every non theft claim is $150. The basic excess applicable to theft claims is $350.
For a scooter and bike policy the amount of basic excess you have to pay will vary depending on your age, experience and the type of bike you have and whether or not your motorcycle was being ridden by an unnamed rider. There will also be an age or inexperienced rider excess if your bike is being ridden by or is in the charge of any named or unnamed rider under the age of 25. Your Famous consultant will be able to talk you through the excess that applies to you.

What if I have a less than perfect driving record?

We look at each risk on its merits to get an understanding of not just the car, but the driver. Just because you have had a few speeding offences this does not necessarily make you a bad driver. We will consider people who have lost their licence or been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. If you are unsure of your traffic record, check online at your local Motor Vehicle Registry.
