Famous Insurance solely focuses on 3 specific types of high performance vehicles:

1. Factory High Performance Vehicles:

A High Performance Vehicle is a vehicle that has been designed with specific performance capabilities, above and beyond those of standard motor vehicles.

Enhancements such as:

  • higher engine output (horsepower),
  • larger engine capacity such as V8's,
  • higher rev limits,
  • the fitment of turbo and super chargers,
  • enhanced braking and suspension systems,

are all trademarks of high-performance vehicles.

Common factory high performance vehicles that Famous will inure include Subaru WRX, FPV, HSV, Nissan 200SX and Mitsubishi Lancer EVO.

2. Modified High Performance Vehicles:

Where a vehicle has been fitted/modified with aftermarket parts designed specifically to improve performance (horsepower), and/or upgrade braking and handling (suspension).

Typical performance enhancing modifications include:

  • a/market turbo/super chargers,
  • cams,
  • increasing engine capacity,
  • aftermarket or re-tuned ECU's/computers,
